To Join This Challenge, You Will Need:

1. To become familiar with the The Alternate-Day Diet. Information can be found on the founder's website, and you should also order the book to get more information on how the program works, recipes.

2. The challenge will also involve meal replacement shakes on your "down days." I would suggest using the shakes and meal replacements offered by Take Shape For Life, but if cost is an issue, you should check out DietDirect.com which has a lot of shakes and meal replacements at much lower prices.

3. This wouldn't be a challenge without exercise. For this challenge, I'm using Leslie Sansone's Walk Slim - 4 Fast Miles (2-Disc Set) every day for 90 days (takes about 45 minutes to complete), and The Science of Fitness with Tamilee - I Want That Body! for strength training (15 minutes).

First week just about completed

I'm happy to say that I've already eaten my last meal for today and this marks the end of a week of fasting for me. I'm very proud of myself for having made it through this with everything that went on this week! And I'm very grateful to my SO for being so supportive of me (probably because he's as eager for me to lose the weight as I am, but oh well, it is what it is!). I don't know how much I weigh, and don't plan to find out anytime soon, but people have already begun commenting on how it looks like I've slimmed down--and I'm getting noticed more when I'm out. A man in front of me at Walgreens called me gorgeous and I was caught off guard, tongue tied and kind of embarrassed. I'm a low key person and I really don't feel comfortable getting compliments like that in front of everyone.

As far as the "fasting," it was easy and hard. Easy because at no point did I experience hunger--hard because I'm an emotional eater. Yet, I was around several people as they ate and my body didn't react in that food addict way. I did end up taking a hunger suppressant with hoodia, so that could be why I didn't have any specific cravings.

I also am doing the EA Sports "More Workouts" 6 week challenge on the Wii and that has been fun. I don't feel the burn though, so I'm upping the intensity next week.
