4am: I'm up at 4am because my SO can't seem to handle watching our baby without constant guidance. Oh well... and it's only fitting that my period would start at a time like this. This means I can't do the appetite suppression pills I was planning on using (too much caffeine = heavier period). So I'm basically going to have to rely on will power alone!!!
430am: I just read that taking caffeine may actually shorten my period. So maybe I can take those pills after all ;)
745am: Weigh in. 196 pounds. REALLY? OK...we're definitely going to have to do something about that! Just filled my 32 oz cup with water, and I'm ready to go. First meal (shake) will be around 9am. Still haven't made up my mind about which workouts to do during the down weeks.
10pm: Yay! I had a good day. I didn't cheat, and I even worked out. I did some stuff on the Wii: I danced 5 songs on The Michael Jackson experience, then I started a new 6 week challenge on EA Sports Active More Workouts. I had fun! Of course, I'm super exhausted right now. I ended up taking one diet pill--the Mega Green Tea extract pills. Not sure if that held me over or if I would have been OK without it. I guess I didn't want to take the chance.
Anyway, as the day was winding out, I realized I had not set a definite goal. Well--I decided to shoot for the stars. It seems crazy, but I'm going to go ahead and put this out there in the universe--I want to lose 66 pounds in the next 12 weeks, to get to my goal of 130. So I will need to lose at least 22 pounds a month. Diet alone will not get me there so I'm really going to have to start that 4 mile workout next week!
I'm going to update my blogs with videos as soon as I have the energy.
Experience accelerated weight loss through a combination of proven weight loss strategies.
To Join This Challenge, You Will Need:
1. To become familiar with the The Alternate-Day Diet. Information can be found on the founder's website, and you should also order the book to get more information on how the program works, recipes.
2. The challenge will also involve meal replacement shakes on your "down days." I would suggest using the shakes and meal replacements offered by Take Shape For Life, but if cost is an issue, you should check out DietDirect.com which has a lot of shakes and meal replacements at much lower prices.
3. This wouldn't be a challenge without exercise. For this challenge, I'm using Leslie Sansone's Walk Slim - 4 Fast Miles (2-Disc Set)
every day for 90 days (takes about 45 minutes to complete), and The Science of Fitness with Tamilee - I Want That Body!
for strength training (15 minutes).

A change of plans
I thought about it some more, and I really want to lose this weight NOW. A few years ago, I did a complete fast using Take Shape For Life. I was so desperate at the time, but I looked at my numbers again, and I lost 42 pounds in 3 months. The numbers were amazing. But I know I don't have the willpower to do that again. Let's be realistic--my life has changed. I no longer live alone and I have a baby. But at the same time, I didn't want to let the idea go...
So I decided to do a half and half situation.Starting Monday, I will do a complete fast for 7 days using meal replacements; the following Monday I will do the alternate day diet... and I will go back to the complete fast the following Monday. So basically, my plan is now the alternate week/alternate day diet. If all goes well, I will have completed 6 weeks of complete fasting, and 6 weeks of the alternate day diet by the time I reach 12 weeks. We'll see if it helps me to reach my goal quicker (hopefully it will)!

Starting Monday...
Last night I thought about just doing the liquid diet for a week or two to jump start my weight loss.
But I'm afraid that could backfire. I must have patience. I'm still considering it, but I don't see how I would be able to manage my life on 450 calories. We'll see!
