To Join This Challenge, You Will Need:

1. To become familiar with the The Alternate-Day Diet. Information can be found on the founder's website, and you should also order the book to get more information on how the program works, recipes.

2. The challenge will also involve meal replacement shakes on your "down days." I would suggest using the shakes and meal replacements offered by Take Shape For Life, but if cost is an issue, you should check out DietDirect.com which has a lot of shakes and meal replacements at much lower prices.

3. This wouldn't be a challenge without exercise. For this challenge, I'm using Leslie Sansone's Walk Slim - 4 Fast Miles (2-Disc Set) every day for 90 days (takes about 45 minutes to complete), and The Science of Fitness with Tamilee - I Want That Body! for strength training (15 minutes).

Day 3

It should be a crime to be this sleepy. The lack of rest combined with low calories is making me feel pretty lazy. I CANNOT WAIT until Monday, which is when I'll be on the Alternate Day Diet week. I'm imagining what I'm going to eat and /or cook. Maybe Red Lobster's? :)

I was tempted to get on the scale but I know that's the absolute last thing I should do if I plan on continuing. I actually don't think it'll be safe for me to weigh in at anytime during these 12 weeks because my goal is so ambitious I would only get discouraged if I didn't seem on track to making it. Better to just go through the program and have some good results, rather than quit and get nowhere. At the end of the day, I'd be pleased with a 50 pound loss, or even 45 pound loss. Thank goodness I look pretty good in the 140-150 lb range!
